About Atelier 19
Atelier 19 is a new vintage inspired bridal boutique located in the heart of the bohemian, artisan quarter of Cheltenham, known as The Suffolks.
It is also the atelier of multi award winning designer Jan Knibbs who specialises in couture embroidery and makes one-off unique garments and accessories suitable for special occasions, especially vintage/ fairytale/ bohemian weddings. In 2001 she won the embroidery category in the British Bridal Awards and she has won the Swarovski Prize and come 2nd twice in the international prestigious Hand and Lock Prize for Embroidery.
To complement Jan’s designs, she has also hand picked a collective of other designers who share the “something old…something new” ethos and who cater both for the bride and other wedding guests including mother of the bride/groom and flower girls. These designers include Gemma Sangwine, (winner of the Three Counties Weddings Awards winner for Best Bridal Millinery 2016) who creates incredible hairpieces and tiaras incorporating vintage brooches, Philippa Couture who makes beautiful tailored dresses, coats and suits perfect for the mother of the bride (and who is also a previous British Bridal Awards winner) and BE by Little Wings who make delightful flower girl dresses from vintage fabric and antique christening robes.
Alongside the array of dresses, coats, millinery, original vintage dresses and antique lace and other accessories, there is also an ever changing curated eclectic mix of old and new curios, French antique brocante finds and handmade gifts by a selected group of artists, artisans and craft practitioners. As you will see if you visit, Atelier 19 is so much more than a bridal shop with something to appeal to everyone, especially those who appreciate quality, uniqueness and the finer things in life.
